No matter what you do any heat is going to be somewhat bad for your hair but you can always make it better with ionic straighteners. You want something that seals in the moisture and color of your hair instead of drying it out. I would recommend the FHI platform flat iron. Yes a little bit pricey but it makes your hair so shiny and actually feel nice instead of like horse hair. =) Also keep the box because if it breaks they will give you a new one for free when you send your box in!
